Innovations are widespread in all fields today. They have been significantly studied in the scientific literature. With the advancement of technology, more and more attention is paid to them in practice. The aim of the paper is to establish the role of innovations in organizational behavior with the purpose of achieving positive effects on company performance and competitiveness through the analysis of selected literature. Management ensures the acquisition of new, external knowledge necessary for the organization to develop, while supporting and accepting internal proposals from employees in order to improve business. Creating a positive climate in the company creates an environment for the development of creativity and innovation, which is confirmed by quality interpersonal relations, teamwork, employee motivation, and job satisfaction. In addition to the Introduction and Tabular presentation, the paper contains five chapters that describe aspects of innovation development in a business organization. It is observed that commitment to open innovation and innovative behavior lead to an improvement of work performance and business performance of the company. The Tabular representation of theoretical research work - chronological literature review from 2016 to 2023 of selected references, according to domain and findings, is presented in the last chapter.

This paper explores how school culture and key organizational culture dimensions, power distance, humane orientation, performance orientation, and in-group collectivism, affect different types of conflict (task, relationship, and process) in primary schools in Serbia. It also examines how gender and teachers’ organizational commitment moderate these relationships. Data were obtained by surveying 380 respondents, all of whom were primary school teachers in Serbia. The participants were between 23 and 65 years old. Of the total sample, 19.47% were male, and 80.53% were female. The mean values ranged from 1.8046 to 4.9847, with standard deviations between 0.7699 and 1.4785. The research was conducted using a simple random sampling technique. Teachers were given questionnaires through Google Forms, which they completed online. Printed versions were also distributed and later entered into the database. The study was guided by two research questions and two hypotheses. Data analysis was performed using SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences). The findings reveal that the school culture dimension of teacher professionalism and goal setting (r = −0.297 **; β = −0.496) and the organizational culture dimension of humane orientation (r = −0.303 **; β = −0.198) have the most substantial negative effects on conflict, indicating their beneficial role in reducing it. In contrast, power distance shows a strong positive relationship with conflict, particularly with relationship conflict (r = 0.230 **; β = 0.201). Additionally, excessive emphasis on teacher collaboration and performance orientation appears to increase relationship conflict (β = 0.226; β = 0.261, respectively). Gender differences emerged: cultural dimensions were more effective in reducing conflict among women than men. Among male teachers, power distance had a stronger influence, significantly increasing task conflict (r = 0.303 **). The school culture and organizational culture dimensions significantly reduce the conflict dimensions in the case of high teacher commitment. The dimension power distance has a statistically significant and positive effect on conflicts when organizational commitment is high (r = 0.247 **). Therefore, school culture and organizational culture dimensions achieve stronger effects in committed women, while power distance achieves stronger effects in committed men.

Research Question: This paper examines the influence of individual leadership dimensions on individual public relations dimensions. The transformational and transactional leadership dimensions, as well as the ethical leadership behavioural dimensions were considered as the independent variables in the study. As the dependent variables, the dimensions of the PR department work quality were considered: Ethical and Responsible Action, Proactive and Quality Performance, Strategic and Effective Action, Media Relations and Internal Public Relations. The paper also analyzes the moderating effects of leaders’ gender and leaders’ age on the observed relationships. Motivation: Previous research linking leadership and public relations can generally be divided into two groups. One group of such studies addresses the impact of leadership on public relations (Topic, 2021; Meng & Neill, 2021). The other research group relates to examining and defining the characteristics of leadership in public relations (Martinelli & Erzikova, 2017; Killingsworth & Flynn, 2016; Hamrin, 2016). However, the impression gained is that there is a lack of research which focuses on measuring the direct impacts of individual leadership dimensions on individual public relations dimensions, especially at the organizational level. This is even more emphasized when examining the influence of the dimensions of transformational leadership and ethical leadership behaviour. Idea: The idea is leadership in organizations has an impact on a number of individual and organizational performance indicators, including public relations and effectiveness in public relations. The paper also analyzes the moderating effects of leaders’ gender and leaders’ age on the observed relationships. Data: The research was carried out in Serbian companies. The respondents included PR managers, PR practitioners and marketing professionals. A total of 236 questionnaires were collected from 78 companies. Tools: The descriptive statistics for all of the observed dimensions. The correlation coefficients between the leadership dimensions and the PR department work quality dimensions. Regression analysis the leadership dimensions on the PR department work quality dimensions. Leaders’ gender and age as a moderator of the observed relationships. Findings: Transformational leadership has a greater impact than transactional. The influence of the Contingent Punishment Behaviour dimension can be negative as can that of Intellectual Stimulation. Female and older leaders have a greater influence on the PR department work quality dimensions. The impression is that female and older leaders have a stricter, more decisive and emotional management style, so the results of the PR department are more aligned with such requirements. Contribution: Such research would create a theoretical basis for the practical action of leaders in the promotion of public relations, especially in terms of individual public relations dimensions.

The paper presents the results of research on the impact of national culture, Big Five personality traits, and emotional intelligence on job satisfaction in teleworkers. The impacts were also examined in conventionally employed, which enabled a comparison. The research was conducted in the countries of the Western Balkans and included 313 respondents. The job satisfaction of teleworkers is most positively influenced by humane orientation, performance orientation, agreeableness, conscientiousness, openness, self-regulation, and social skills. Self-awareness can act both positively and negatively, and neuroticism has a negative impact on job satisfaction. National culture has a greater impact on job satisfaction among conventionally employed rather than within teleworkers. Big Five personality traits work differently: extroversion has a greater impact on job satisfaction among conventionally employed, while agreeableness and conscientiousness have a greater impact on job satisfaction among teleworkers. Emotional intelligence has a greater impact on job satisfaction among conventionally employed rather than teleworkers. Teleworking employees are less influenced by the environment, and thus less influenced by national culture. Emotional intelligence helps conventionally employed work more, while teleworkers place higher value on the results of their work.

Reducing dependence on fossil fuels and mitigating their negative effects on the environment are some of the most promising benefits of using renewable energy sources. The diversity of available biomass resources makes it an attractive source of renewable energy. Given the variability in the supply and sources of biomass, supply chains play a key role in the efficient provision of this resource for energy production. This paper provides an overview of biomass supply chain operations, highlighting their aspects and challenges.

In facing environmental challenges for enhancing environmental conservation, the aim of the paper is to examine the role of green innovations in modern business. The paper explores the possibilities of generating green innovations with the intention of sustainable development in the global context. It seeks to encourage all business entities, especially with a recommendation for the implementation of green innovations in companies in the Republic of Serbia. An analysis of selected, according to the latest publications, scientific literature has enabled answering research questions and forming a theoretical model for the green transformation of companies based on green innovations. Based on theoretical considerations, proposals and guidelines have been identified. In addition to the implementation of new knowledge and technological solutions, the motivation of managers for green entrepreneurship and green financial incentives are just some of the significant factors for the development of green innovations with effects on the environmental and business performance of companies.

The paper examines the influence of the dimensions of Big Five and Narcissism on dimensions of the Theory of Planned Behavior and Entrepreneurial intentions. The moderating effect of the item Student success (the perception of the students on their success) in studying on these relationships was also examined. The research was carried out in Serbia, and the respondents were students. The sample included 400 respondents. Extroversion, Openness to experience and Narcissism have the strongest positive influence on the Theory of Planned Behavior dimensions and Entrepreneurial intention dimension. The influence of Conscientiousness is positive, but somewhat weaker and concentrated on the Subjective norm dimension. Neuroticism has a weak negative influence, while the correlation analysis showed that there is a statistically significant negative influence on the Theory of Planned Behavior dimensions. Agreeableness has no influence, with the exception of one statistically significant and positive correlation with the Subjective norm dimension. In the case of Low Student success, Extroversion and Narcissism has a stronger positive effect on the Theory of Planned Behavior dimensions and Entrepreneurial intention dimension than in the case of High Student success. In general, narcissistic persons have a high opinion of themselves, are full of self-confidence, and are highly motivated to be successful, rich, and admired by other people. They see entrepreneurship as an opportunity to achieve what they think they deserve. Suggestions are made regarding the use of these potentials and the translation of a negative phenomenon, such as narcissism, into something useful for society.

This paper investigates the effects of the big five, individual entrepreneurial orientation, love of money, and theory of planned behaviour dimensions on the entrepreneurial attitude and intention among freelancers. The moderating effect of gender in freelancers was also examined. The research was conducted in Western Balkan countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia. A total of 318 questionnaires were collected. The influences of the theory of planned behaviour and individual entrepreneurial orientation dimensions are significant and positive. The positive impact of dimension openness is emphasised. Motivation to make money has a strong and positive effect on entrepreneurial attitudes and intentions, especially among men. The desire to achieve freedom through money has a positive impact on entrepreneurial attitudes, but also a negative effect on entrepreneurial intentions. Analytical and graphical modelling of the detected impacts was performed. Based on the real values of the independent variables that apply to a certain freelancer, analytical models can be used to simulate the entrepreneurial attitudes and intentions of that individual.

Background and purpose The purpose of this research is to examine how Machiavellianism and the desire for money can influence entrepreneurial intentions. It could be assumed that the desire for money and Machiavellian tendencies can develop the desire for success in people and eventually entrepreneurial intention. Methodology Respondents were surveyed using a questionnaire. Four hundred students were from three faculties at two universities in Serbia responded the questionnaire. The study utilized Smart PLS software. Results It was shown that there is a statistically significant positive impact of Machiavellianism and money intention on entrepreneurial intentions. Money intention is also a mediator in the relationship between Machiavellianism and entrepreneurial intentions. The theoretical contribution of the research is that these influences on entrepreneurial intentions have not been sufficiently examined so far, especially the influence of money intention. The practical significance of the research is the observation of the possibility that people who have a high level of Machiavellianism and money intention can be identified, understood, and systematically directed towards entrepreneurship. Conclusion Although the observed characteristics can be considered negative, people who possess them also possess entrepreneurial potential, and can create social good. These motives are not desirable, but such people can be useful for society: it is certainly better to spend energy on entrepreneurial ventures and further development of their own company, than on something else, less useful, or even destructive.

Employee turnover can have negative consequences for companies, including high costs, low productivity, and low employee morale. To address this issue, companies should focus on increasing job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and competitive compensation, creating a healthy work culture, and promoting open communication. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the emergence of the "great resignation" trend, prompting workers to reconsider their career choices and seek better job opportunities. Although its long-term effects are unknown, it has already led to labor shortages in some industries such as healthcare. Quiet quitting is another issue that can affect employee turnover, where employees intentionally do the bare minimum or lack motivation in their work. Companies must maintain open communication with their employees to prevent passive resistance such as quiet quitting. In summary, managing employee turnover is crucial for companies, and they must adapt to the evolving needs and expectations of their workforce to maintain a productive and motivated team.

The paper examines the influence of dimensions of the Big Five, Narcissism, and Machiavellianism on dimensions of Enterprise potential and Individual entrepreneurial orientation. The research was carried out in Serbia, and the respondents were students, with the sample consisting of 400 respondents (students). Openness to experience has the strongest positive influence on the Enterprise potential and Individual entrepreneurial orientation dimensions, followed by Narcissism, Conscientiousness, and Extroversion. In doing so, the following influences are especially highlighted: Openness to experience on Creativity and Innovativeness; Narcissism on Leadership and Achievement; Consciousness on Proactiveness; Extroversion on Achievement and Risk-taking. The positive influence of Conscientiousness and Machiavellianism on Leadership, as well as the negative influence of Neuroticism on the observed dependent variables, should still be highlighted. The results are discussed in the paper. The theoretical significance of the work is that the influence of personal characteristics and internal mechanisms of individuals, which activate entrepreneurial potential and entrepreneurial orientation, were examined as a basis for the subsequent possible development of immediate entrepreneurial intentions. Previous research is mainly based on examining the direct effects of personal characteristics on entrepreneurial intentions.

Teleworking, as a new method of work, implies working out of a designated office space using informational technologies. As a modern work practice, it became popular in recent years but abruptly developed in the last two years with the COVID 19 pandemic when a large number of companies were forced to perform remotely resulting in challenges. This research aims to examine how mental health can affect work performance in teleworking employees. The sample holds 134 respondents conventionally and remotely employed in Serbia who were interviewed using the CES-D self-assessment scale, with 20 questions measuring depressive symptomatology. This study demonstrates the connection between the methods of work and the mental state and their influence on work results. Teleworkers in Serbia show higher values of depression than conventional employees which can negatively affect their work performance. This research contributes to the improvement of remote employee management in Serbia and gives recommendations on how to notice depression in teleworkers, prevent it and reduce its effects.

This paper aims to determine the effects of using social networks on work-related outcomes. Observed work-related outcomes are job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and work performance. The moderating effects of gender and age of respondents on the given relations were also observed. In addition, this paper aims to consider the theoretical and practical implications of such research. The research was conducted in West Balkan countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia. Respondents were employed in organizations in these countries and 313 complete questionnaires were collected. The number of social media networks and somewhat frequency of social media networks usage and the number of photos has a positive effect on individual outcomes of employed persons. Daily time usage, frequency of posting photos, number of groups, and number of groups (active participant) have negative effects on individual outcomes of employed persons. Prolonged use of social media networks (during the day) can especially reduce job satisfaction while joining a large number of groups severely jeopardizes organizational commitment. Active participation in a number of groups significantly reduces salary satisfaction and organizational loyalty among male employees. Excessive use of social media network sites and frequent posting of images can reduce satisfaction with the nature of work and work performance among older employees. The discovered connections and influences have scientific and practical significance, which is explained in the paper.

The topic of this paper are the values of the individual entrepreneurial orientation and the Theory of planned behavior dimensions, among freelancers in the Western Balkan countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, and Serbia). The effects of four control variables: gender, age, education level, and previous entrepreneurial experience were also examined. Freelancers best perceive support for an entrepreneurial venture as well as their proactivity. Entrepreneurial intentions were assessed as the worst. The greatest impact on the observed dimensions occurs in the division of the sample into freelancers who have/do not have previous experience in entrepreneurship. As for the other control variables, statistically significant differences occur in only three other cases: dimensions RT - Risk-taking and PBC - Perceived behavioral control on the side of male freelancers, and dimension IN - Innovativeness on the side of younger freelancers. A comparison was made with a similar study, where the respondents were conventional employees. In general, freelancers have greater entrepreneurial intentions than conventional employees. Freelancers are more consistent in terms of entrepreneurial intentions: there are no differences in these intentions if the sample is divided according to the gender and age of freelancers. These results are discussed in the paper.

This paper examines and analyzes the differences in job satisfaction among conventionally employed and teleworkers. Differences were examined for three control variables: gender, age, and education of the respondents. The research was conducted in West Balkan countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia), and included 313 respondents (conventionally employed and teleworkers). Teleworkers are more satisfied than conventionally employed. This is most evident through satisfaction with all forms of compensation, procedures, and associates. Job satisfaction is higher in men, both who work conventionally and who telework. Men are significantly more appreciative of opportunities for advancement, as well as achieving additional benefits and rewards. Younger respondents have greater job satisfaction than older respondents, this only applies to conventionally employed. There are no differences in job satisfaction within teleworkers, depending on their age. Job satisfaction does not depend on the level of education of the respondents, and this applies to both conventionally employed and teleworkers. Companies that apply telework more objectively evaluate the results of their employees' work and the contribution they provide to the company, and in accordance, they adequately reward and promote employees. Thus, all age and educational categories of employees see their chance in teleworking conditions.

Sudden and frequent changes in the market have conditioned the growing importance of risk management. Given that small and medium enterprises are "weak" to change and react badly in crisis situations, risk analysis is especially recommended. The risk management process optimizes business decisions in accordance with the identified risks in order to control risk and reduce consequences. Ten risks per medium-sized enterprise and their values are tabulated in the paper. The FMEA method was applied for risk analysis in the implementation of ISO 9001:2015 in a company that is not subject to standardization. The introduction of standardization carries certain acceptance risks that can be appropriately minimized in a timely manner and directed towards more stable operations.

The field of communication includes Public Relations, but also Corporate Social Responsibility. The importance of these business functions is increasingly recognized in their synergy and joint action, and it has been confirmed in business practice. Information Technologies provide opportunities for new forms of communication that build on the theory of Public Relations. Corporate Social Responsibility improves the business and the quality of life of the entire society. The International Standard ISO 26000 provides guidelines for conducting socially responsible business activities in a global environment. In this paper, the authors define the theoretical connections between social networks and decision-making processes. Social networks have become a common part of everyday life, and all segments of society in some way participate in communication with peers using some of these platforms. As the way and channel of communication have changed, so have social networks strongly influenced the redesign of the way of thinking and creating opinions in the population. Shared opinions on something in the population can have a significant impact on the decision-making process within the company. With an adequate analysis of the attitudes of the population on social networks, the company can react in a timely manner and improve business and using the same communication channels, a certain decision within the company can be better approached and explained to users, thus reducing resistance to changes that may occur in consumers. Social networks have a multidimensional influence in the decision-making process and it is important to use their potential properly to improve business and improve competitiveness, especially in times of crisis.

Reengineering is considered one of the radical measures that goes beyond the traditional styleof management and corrects mistakes made by the organization in previous time periods.Companies often have to solve problems by starting from scratch, and this requires a lot ofefforts and is often the only way for it to survive if it is in a crisis. All the characteristics of anorganization in a certain way affect its formation and culture, and each organization has itsown culture, even the lack of it represents a certain organizational culture. As reengineeringrequires radical changes in business, the manner and success of implementation largelydepends on the organizational culture. Proper management of aspects of organizational cultureenables companies to successfully implement the reengineering process in times of crisis.

With globalization and the emergence of a growing number of international companies, the influence of national culture on various aspects of human life in management has become particularly important in recent decades in modern business. Due to the encounter of different cultures from all over the world, it is impossible to avoid the influence of these cultural differences and the possibility of conflicts is great, so modern leaders and managers try to find good techniques of proper management of different people using knowledge of national culture. Any form of conflict, even constructive conflicts, can have a negative impact on the work performance of employees, and in international companies a large number of conflicts is a direct consequence of a lack of understanding of national culture. Teleworking and flexible forms of work are the result of the technological revolution and globalization. Although insufficiently researched form of work, it is gaining more and more attention of the authors. Managers face new challenges in managing employees working remotely, especially in multinational and multiethnic environments of international companies, so it is important to explore aspects that affect their work performance.

Teleworking as a new method of work emerged with the development of information technologies, and it significantly popularized by the development of the internet. In addition to the socioeconomic benefits of this method of work, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the large number of companies that were forced to apply telework, the positive effects of this form of work on the environment have been noticed. By reducing commuting, lower consumption of work materials and electricity, teleworking can become more sustainable compared to conventional working methods if it is carried out in a planned and systematic manner.

Modern business and Industry 4.0, confirm the need for innovative action and the acquisition of new knowledge in order to improve productivity and competitiveness. In order to improve the placement of the domestic economy in the global environment, due to hyper-competition, domestic companies must primarily adopt the ways of managing modern techniques and methods modeled on the best examples from business practice. Knowledge management, quality management, and marketing management are not sufficiently present in the business of domestic companies. A low level of productivity and technological equipment confirms the lack of knowledge and inadequate management, which results in unsatisfactory competitiveness.

Modern business processes require the improvement of the entire staff. It is considered thatit is not enough to direct the education of employees in only one segment, but it is considered that itis necessary to conduct education at all levels in the company. It is especially necessary to focus onthe safety and health of employees. Given that he lives in a time of increasingly rapid, dramatic, complex and unpredictable changes inthe business environment, it isnecessary to find a way to adaptto them. The new economy views the application of the concept of knowledge management as one ofthe main principles for achieving competitive advantages in the internal and external environment aswell as in the market.

This paper examines and analyzes the differences in organizational commitment and trust at work among conventionally employed and remote employees. Two additional control variables are introduced into the research: Gender and Age of the respondents. The survey included 265 respondents employed in organizations in Serbia (88.3%) and surrounding countries (Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia). Remote employees show stronger organizational commitment and trust at work than conventional employees. This applies to the following four dimensions: organizational identification, faith in intentions of peers, confidence in actions of peers and confidence in actions of management. At the same time, the overall sample shows that the degree of engagement at work, as well as the degree of loyalty to the organization, does not depend on the way they work (conventionally or remotely). However, male teleworkers have a very low level of organizational loyalty and it will not be a problem for them to leave their current job if they are offered a better position at another organization. Older teleworkers exhibit statistically significantly greater confidence in management intentions than younger teleworkers. Leaders and managers in conventional organizations should be aware of the potential for employees to experience a decline in organizational identification and confidence in peers and managers. Organizations practicing teleworking must make sure that male teleworkers have low organizational loyalty and can easily leave their current job.
